Date night and our newest addition

Brad and I had date night on Saturday. Nana came over around 6 with pizza for the boys and we headed out. We went downtown to Louis 106 on 6th street. We started with appetizers had a great steak and even got desert!! All without saying "sit down" , "eat", "quit playing with your knife" etc.... it was still pretty early after dinner so we headed next door to Logans for a drink. Man are we old!! I remember Logans from back in our college days, crazy nights with huge beers! This was a little different, we had the small beer and were one of about 15 people in the bar ( it was only like 8:30). It was a great night, we will defiantly have to do this again!!!

Back on Tyler's 4th b-day his Nana had gotten him a fish tank with 2 fish. Unfortunately those fish only lasted a month or so. Ever since then he has been begging his Nana for more fish. So yesterday we head to Pet Smart to meet Nana and get that new fish. This time we decided on a Beta since they are harder to kill. Tyler picked this one out and I am sure you can guess what he named him.......

Mega Nap Day

Wow, my kids have been asleep now for almost 3 hours! This is the first time in a long time that I have actually finished everything I wanted to do during nap. I guess Carter is making up for getting up at 6:00 for the last 3 mornings! Oh well, I guess I will go watch Extra and find out what is going on in Hollywood until they wake up!

What a Day!

Well, it was just as hard as I thought it would be. Janey's memorial service was beautiful, but there was not a dry eye in the building. It was a great tribute to her life and how she lived it! She will be missed by many. We will have "Team Janey" this year at the race for the cure in her memory. I hope you all will join us in the walk to raise money for this horrible disease.

On a happier note, Tyler said the funniest thing yesterday at the store. The clerk said what a cute brother he had and he told the clerk, " he is not my brother, he is just visiting!" I told her he was still in denial!! Tyler likes to play mean, but he loves his little brother and would not have it any other way!

Our Newest Angel

The world has lost a beautiful person today, our neighbor and friend Janey has lost her courageous battle with cancer. Brad and I closed on our newly constructed house the same day as Brian and Janey, so we have known them for almost 7 years now. They have been nothing but great people, friends and neighbors. Janey was a hair stylist and my boys had the privilege to have gotten their first haircut from Ms Janey. The boys love her and she loved them. Every time we would pull into the driveway and either Brian or Janey were outside both boys would run over to them as soon as they got out. I remember the day, which was about 2 years ago that we got the grim news that Janey had found a lump in her breast. She was only in her mid 40's. She was very optimistic and courageous with her battle, although the cancer would not give her any breaks, she would go on to get many tumors throughout her body until her body just could not take it anymore. We have her memorial on Wed, which will be very hard for all of us. Cheri and I went to HEB tonight to get food and drinks for Brian and his family. We can't do a lot at this point so we just hope to make his life a little easier right now. The hard part will be the day that Tyler asks where is Ms Janey?
We feel very privileged to have called Janey a friend and neighbor and now our Angel.
Please keep Brian and his family in your prayers as he goes through the toughest time in his life.

Welcome Baby Sydney!!

Our friends Traci and Phillip welcomed their second child and first daughter into this world earlier this week! She is so beautiful, we can't wait to meet her! I made her a little OHBOY! Designs gift pack filled with all kinds of goodies!

Go Crusoe, Go!

Go Crusoe, Go! Tyler and I went to see Water Horse tonite. What a great movie!!! Very rarely can I sit through an entire movie without fidgeting or looking at my watch a million times (especially during kid movies), but this was different I truly thought it was a great movie. The best part was the theatre was in a mall so afterwards we had like 30 minutes to power shop! Tyler and I are going to have to do this more often, we had a great time!

TGIF

Thanks goodness for Fridays! Our new year's resolution was to not eat Mexican food every Friday night (sorry Cafe Serranos!) so tonite we decided on Waterloo, it is a great place for adult beverages, ok food, and a great playscape out back for the kids to run off all their energy!

We had a great week, spider man saved the day (again and again!) Tyler wears his suit under clothes just incase he needs to leap into action! We thought it would be fun to make our own mask!





We headed to Ready Set Play for some jump time ( don't tell Carters Orthopedic Dr.)






This is Tyler's favorite one, he probably did it 327 times!

Tomorrow I am off for a mommy day. Getting my hair cut, doing a little shopping and maybe just maybe, a pedi!

The end to a great year!

What a great year we have had. We are so blessed to have two of the best little boys, a happy stay at home mom and great dad!
We had so much fun at Nana's and Papas Christmas morning, and got lots of great presents!





That night we drove to Marble Falls to see the trail of lights, something we have done since Tyler was born. The boys are really getting into Christmas and all that comes with it.







The day after Christmas we had to do our bargin shopping at Barton Creek Mall! Uncle Chad took them to the Van's Store and got each of them some cool new shoes!! We love our Uncle Chad!


We left for Arlington to see Grammy and Grampa Friday. We went to Aunt Melissas and Uncle Brians for the Hubbard Christmas. The boys got a new closet full of clothes! Thanks everyone, they look great in every piece!

New years eve was pretty low key this year! We went to the neighbors for a little while until we all pooped out!
All in all is was a great 07, but we are looking forward to an awesome 08!
Hopefully no stitches, broken bones etc........
