Spring Break 2010

It has been a while since Spring Break meant anything to us, but this year was different. Tyler had a week off and we had to find something to do with all our free time. We started off the week with a trip to Inner Space Caverns with some good friends the Sartors and Stevens. A couple days later we headed to Houston for a little get away. We stayed in a fun hotel with an indoor pool, went to Kemah and visited the Space Center. On our way home we dropped by an old college friend's house and had lunch. It was an awesome week.

Brad and I went with a fun group of friends to the Texas hill country wineries. We all piled in the stretched hummer limo and set sail! We visited 3 wineries all around the hill country. It was SO MUCH FUN!

Cousins Weekend

Landon and Kylie (and Uncle Brian) came down for a super fun visit! I am not sure why these are the only pictures I got, but they did way more than play video games (although there was a LOT of that going on too)
We went to Main Event and played lots of games and glow in the dark golf (FUN!), played in the backyard with Uncle Travis and the daddy's, played at the park and Kylie and I did a little shopping at Target.
Saturday night we even got to enjoy a little adult dinner while a friend came to babysit. All in all I think it was a great time had by all! Can't wait for the next cousins weekend!

Here Ye Here Ye, welcome to the Laura Bush Elementary Kindergarten Fairy Tale Ball.
Kindergarten ended their unit on fairy tales and what better way to celebrate than to have a ball! The kiddos got to dress up as characters in a fairy tale (much easier for princess' to find a costume in Feb than the Prince) but nonetheless we found Tyler a knight costume. They paraded around the school, made crafts galore and ate pizza! What a life!

While in Arlington over Christmas we drove up to the Gaylord Texan to meet up with my cousin, his wife and their two kids to see the awesome ICE exhibit. It is amazing what they can do with ICE!

Christmas Day

Tyler could not sleep Christmas Eve, he was soooooo excited about the thought of Santa coming! Finially he fell asleep and Santa could do his magic! The boys woke up Christmas morning to new DSi's!!!! Santa did good this year!

This year for Tyler's birthday my mom got us tickets to the longhorn game. We had the best seats ever, 40th yard line row 3 right behind the longhorn players. We got to the game a couple hours early so we could experience the whole tailgating experience too. It was AMAZING! there are a lot of longhorn fans out there. We caught up with some friends who tailgate regularly and hung out with them until the it was time to head to the stadium. The weather was great (good football weather), seats were awesome and the horns WON!!! I can't wait to go again.

Finally, the day has arrive that Carter can step on the baseball diamond and play a game of his own. Carter is playing on the Lugnuts this year while Tyler is on the Express. Both had games this weekend and did AWESOME! Carter was grinning ear to ear!! Watching those little 3 and 4 year old is so much fun. Tyler is playing with some of the same boys that he has played with for 3 seasons now, it is amazing to see the how well the boys have evolved as players. Tyler made a home run and had an AWESOME double play. I am so proud of both these boys!!! I LOVE being a BOY mom!!!

Carter has been SOUND asleep both days I have picked him up from school. He is use to 3 plus hours nap and is only getting maybe 1 hour at school. Today he fell back asleep in the car on the short ride home, then fell back asleep on the couch as soon as we got inside!!! I think school is wearing this little munchkin out!!!

Today was Carter's Day, his first day of Mothers Day Out!!!! I signed him up for 3 days a week at our church, First Baptist Church in Gtown and he had an awesome first day! His teacher is very sweet and said he fit right in and did not get upset at all. Me on the other hand, it was a little hard. I was more nervous today than I was for Tyler when he went to kindergarten. I guess this means I officially do not have a baby anymore :(
I did not get anything done today like I thought I would, I am going to need some adjusting time to figure everything out. I know once it is all figured out I will love the time to myself!

Today was the day we have been waiting for all summer! We set the alarms, packed lunches, and set out clothes for the first day of Kindergarten for Tyler! He did awesome! Walked right into his class, sat down and was ready! I can't wait to go pick him up to see how it all went

Date Night

Brad and I went on a much needed date night to celebrate his bday a little early. We headed out to Steiner Steak house with Joe and Tammy for a fun night. I had never been out there, but Brad had and raved about the food and atmosphere. Both were awesome! The steak house looks over lake Travis (what is left of it). I can see many more date nights out there!

Cheri was nice enough to take pictures of the boys on her neighborhood golf course. I had the idea to take them for a surprise bday gift for Brad. I was going to frame a photo for his office, but after the seeing how many awesome pics Cheri took I decided to make a photo book for him instead. Port Aransas 2009

Finally...... we made it to the beach!!! My mom and the kiddos made our way to Port A on Thursday. We were having a great ride when we heard a loud pop like and then another noise that we knew was not right. Long story short we lost part of our plastic casing that is under the car, so we were stuck on the side of the road with half of it hanging down to the road until 2 nice men came and took it off for us so we could be on our way!! The first night we stayed at a hotel, Tyler was up at 4:30 ready to hit the beach, he was so super excited. We made our way to the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus which was really cool! The next two nights we stayed with my aunt and uncle and my cousin Jake. We went to the beach, ate a ton, and watched the boys fish. It was awesome seeing the boys enjoy the beach so much, it was Carter's first time to the beach and Tyler's first time to remember. I can't wait to go back again!!!! Next time Brad will come with us, the stinker had to work

Carter and Tyler were "playing" in a store sunday and Carter fell and hit his head just right on one of the table legs. Blood everywhere, Carter waling at the top of his lungs, people staring..... just a day in the life of the Hubbards! The dr's were able to glue the wound instead of stitch it up, YAY!

Back to the outlet mall when went, no we did not go back to that store again, pretty sure our picture is up as banned forever!

I loaded up the car with swim suits, pjs, and two boys (ok, so a lot more than that because I am not a light packer) and headed to Dallas to see my old SWT friends and their families. We had so much fun catching up and talking about old times. We went swimming, visited the Wet Zone, did a little boutique shopping and did lots of laughing and talking! Can't wait for the next trip!

Summer is so fun! We love to hang out in our backyard on summer afternoons, Brad usually makes something yummy on the grill while the boys play baseball or in their kiddie pool. Ok, so Brad and I play in the kiddie pool too. The other night after it got dark we laid on our towels and looked at all the stars in the sky! The kids had a blast! Summer is coming to an end and I am starting to get a little restless. Since we have had our house on the market (yes still on the market :() all summer, we have tried to get out of the house so I don't have to constantly clean it! We have done EVERYTHING and the boys (and me) are getting bored!!! So I found a park that I thought looked fun in Downtown Austin complete with fountains that the boys could run around in and cool off. I packed a lunch and we were off..... the park was great, had a great view of downtown, only one (or two) little problem....

That is right, off for repair..... two sad, hot little boys!

But there was a cool hill you could climb to get a great view of downtown

and a little pond where we saw some turtles

The boys ran around the fountain to see what it would be like if there were water and decided they liked it and we could come back another time when hopefully it will be OPEN!

The other little problem was there was no where to eat our lunch, there was very little shade and no picnic tables that I saw. So we hiked back to the car and had a picnic while I drove home.

July 4th Family Reunion

We started a tradition 3 years ago with a Wilson family reunion at my parents lake house. This year we super fun despite no water being in the lake! It is so sad to see Lake Travis so low, you can't even get a boat in right now. The weekend was filled with family, fun, sun and lots of food and drinks! Can't wait until next year, hopefully we will be back in the water!!

We are definitely taking advantage of the Round Rock Express Baseball club being in our backyard. We have been to more games this year than we have since we have lived here. The boys absolutely love everything about the games. They are so family friendly. We normally sit on the grass with our blankets, but last night we had seat tickets since we were there for a company function. I have come to terms with the fact that this is my new life as a boy mom and I love it. I apologise now to my friends with girls for the day that I start the wave at their dance recitals. :)

Camps, Swim Lessons and Fun in the Sun is what I remember about summer as a kid and it is all coming back to me as my boys enjoy their summer! Tyler is enjoying vacation bible school at our church right now while Carter is enjoying some alone time with mommy. He has already snatched Tyler's car seat while he is at VBS! Guess it is time to move him to a booster!

Tyler is getting so old, VBS is getting me ready for what Kindergarten is going to be like next year. He just walks in and goes to his class, barely even tells my bye :(

Carter is in his 4th week at Nitro Swim and is doing awesome! He has moved right along and is in level 4. The other day we were at our pool and he was jumping in from the side and swimming (with no floaties) to us!! I am so proud of him.

Tyler's last day of basketball camp was today. He had a Slammin Jammin good time. It was all week from 9-12. They learned all the basics of basketball. The coach was awesome, he was able to get 80 plus kids from age 5-9 to actually listen and do real basketball drills. I think I am going to invest in a whistle, that might be the secret or maybe it was the push ups he made them do when they did not listen (LOL). Tyler really enjoyed himself and I think Carter kinda liked the alone time :)

After 4 years we had to say goodbye to Ms Connie. Tyler started going to Ms Connie's when he was about 1 1/2 and Carter started going about a year ago. They have loved their time with her but it is time to move on. Tyler will be going to Kindergarten next year and Carter is starting a mother's day out program at our church in the fall. It was a sad day, we will really miss her, she was so sweet to the boys over the years.

Memorial day weekend started off Friday with a fun happy hour at the Thompson's with a slip n slide and yummy food! We headed out to the lake just in time for the thunderstorms on Saturday. It was nice, we stayed inside and played games. The weather was nice sunday afternoon and all day monday! We headed home monday morning for some kiddie pool time, Carter loves his pool!!!

Brad and I jetted off Friday for a fun long weekend with my brother Chad in Miami. Chad has the best set up, he lives on vacation every weekend. He lives in a high rise condo in South Beach. He is from walking distance from everything!!! We spent our days on the beach soaking up some sun and doing plenty of people watching. South Beach might be the BEST place for people watching :) We saw lots of crazy things. We spent our nights on Lincoln Road eating and having fun! Thanks Chad for hosting another awesome Miami getaway! and thanks to Nana and Papa for hosting an awesome getaway for Tyler and Carter so we could have this getaway!

Mothers Day

I had an awesome Mothers Day. We spent the weekend out at Nana and Papas lake house. This was the first time we have been out there this year, so needless to say the boys had a blast. They love to drive around on the golf cart, scare the cows away, eat smores, sleep on the bunk beds and play in the Deer Stand.... what??? deer stand, we don't hunt???? oh, Papa bought this for Tyler to play on...... what??? does Papa wish for broken bones!!! so far no broken bones, but Tyler LOVES it. He actually picked sitting up there over throwing the baseball at one point in the weekend! We left the lake Sunday morning and headed home for mothers day. Brad did all the mommy duties while I layed out ALL DAY! so nice. When Carter woke up we broke out the water toys and played the rest of the day outside while Brad grilled us some YUMMY fajitas!! Awesome day!

The Sandlot

Wow, it has been a while! A couple of weeks ago we went to the Alamo Draft House for a special family showing of the Sandlot with Uncle Travis and some of his friends. The boys LOVED it! It was such a cute movie and the boys have not stopped talking about it yet. The movie was a free showing sponsored by the Round Rock Express. Four of the players were there before the movie to sign autographs and take questions. I was so proud of Tyler, he raised his hand during question time and was called on out of a full movie audience. He stood up and confidently asked the question " how old were you when you started playing baseball". It was so cute! Ever since the movie the boys wake up and head to the Sandlot aka backyard to play ball for hours! Today I walked outside and this is what I found

Birthday Boy

My sweet "baby" turned 3 yesterday. We started the day off with breakfast at Rudy's, his choice! Then I took the boys to school because it was Easter Party Day! That night we took them to opening night for the Round Rock Express. It was a GREAT day! We are celebrating with all his friends on Saturday for a Super Hero Party, those pictures will follow!

Time to Move On

Brad and I decided a couple of weeks ago that it was time to move on from our little house on Keeshond! We contacted our friend and realtor and within a week the house was listed. We have already had three showings, hopefully it will not take many more. My fear is August will come and we will still be in this house. It has been "fun" keeping it spotless everyday before we leave the house in hopes we have a showing while we are gone! It will be bitter sweet leaving this house. This was the first house Brad and I bought and the house we brought both boys home from the hospital too. But it will be great to move on......

RRYBB Opening Day

The day we have been practicing for has finially come! Opening day for Spring 2009 T-Ball is here! Sunday, Tyler got dresses in his Yankee uniform and headed to the ball park. After opening ceramonies we had our first game of 2009 and we WON!! Tyler and his team did awesome, I am so excited about this year. He has a great team again!!! Go Yankees!

My kids favorite game is UNO! They started playing it in the kids room at the gym, then we got it for them for Christmas. We literally play like 7 times a day! They are so obsessed with the game that when they are eating and there is one chicken nugget left they yell "UNO"! Today I walked into my room and Carter is playing UNO with his bear, Chico.

Side note: This bear is Carters BFF, my sweet Aunt Judith took the boys to Build A Bear when Carter was first born and made bears with them. Just lately Carter has named this bear Chico, no idea where this name came from, but he loves this bear!

Putting my Craft to good use!

Most of you know that I love to sew and make baby gifts in my *spare* time (which by the looks of my Etsy store right now tells you there is not much spare time anymore). Recently someone contacted me about donating one of my diaper caddies for a give away she hosts. I have to be honest I get a lot of people contacting me and wanting me to donate and I usually just ignore it since I have no idea who these people are and if it is legit or not. This was different, something made me actually look into this and read her blog. Lianna and her husband have been trying for a baby for sometime now and had a couple of failed attempts to conceive via IFV and in order to try one more time they have to raise 10,000. I thought about this and about how lucky I really am to have had no problems getting pregnant, staying pregnant, and delivering 2 healthy boys and thought everyone who wants the chance to be parents should get this amazing opportunity. So if donating a diaper caddy meant one day these beautiful people might have the chance to have babies I said "of course I will donate, where do I send it". Off to Casablanca

Saturday night Brad and I got all dressed up and headed to Casablanca for our second year! Casablanca is a lot closer than you might think, it is actually at the Dell Diamond 3 miles from our house! This saturday was our annual charity gala for my womens club, Chaparral Womens Club. It was so fun, we were so happy that Ken and Cheri went with us this year too! Nana and Papa took the boys over night so we got to SLEEP IN the next morning too! AWESOME! I think we raised a lot of money too! Great news for the charities we support in Williamson County!

Valentines Day was so special this year. I am so blessed to have 3 valentines!!! The morning was filled with little guy valentine fun, I actually made heart shaped pancakes for the boys with sprinkles and sugar! They loved it. After breakfast I hit the road with Cheri to find that perfect dress for Gala. We actually both found it at the first stop, Classy Concepts. My parents were nice enough to hang out with the boys for a few hours while Brad and I enjoyed an awesome couples massage at She Etc in Gtown. This is my fave spa! They had us in the cottage out back and after we enjoyed some wine and crackers. We met Ken and Cheri for an early dinner at Romeos. GREAT day!!!

Arlington Plano trip

Wow, I am still recovering from a super fun weekend get away. We headed out Friday around lunch for our fun 3 day adventure to the metroplex. We started in Arlington at my fave place, Brownstone village! I was not too impressed this time for some reason but I still love it! Then we headed to a huge Mexican food place to celebrate Brad's brothers birthday. The WHOLE family was there! Saturday morning we loaded the car for Plano! Our first stop was at a park to meet up with college friends, Sarah and Johnny and their two sweet girls. The boys had a blast and I have fun catching up with Sarah. After the park we headed to my cousin Michael's house and my sweet friend Chesle. From this time until we left Sunday I did not see my children! They absolutely LOVE playing with Luke and Lauren! Lauren was so sweet to my boys, took such good care of them. The adults got to a have some time at a fun Sushi bar, RA. YUMMY! Sunday we headed to FW for Brad's Grandfathers 90th bday party! Isn't that awesome, 90! It was a great bday party with a great turnout. We finally got home around 7ish to watch as much of the Grammys as we could until I pooped out!!!

I am so excited that my BFF from kinder to 8th grade is back in my life! Amity and I were inseparable for most of my childhood until her family moved in the 8th grade. Since we could not drive and it was a long distance phone call we lost touch. Well thanks to facebook we have reunited! The crazy part is we only live a few miles from each other. We meet at the park this morning and had a great time catching up. Hopefully this is the first of many playdates and future adult dinners! Yeah Facebook!!!

Me, Nana and the boys enjoyed a beautiful MLK day walking the boutiques of Gruene Texas! The boys were not too excited about this, but they were troopers and hung out with us. We started in San Marcos at Center Point Station then over to Calli's Sassy Boutique, both have super cute gifts and clothes. Then we headed to Gruene for a fabulous lunch at the Gristmill. We went to a few boutiques downtown, but was not impressed with any! Then on the way out we found Alibi Boutique (loved it!!!) I bought the hip-t there (what a great invention!!!). Of course on the way home we had to stop by the Pottery Barn outlet!!! it was a super fun day!!!

A Date Night???

Yes it is true, Brad and I had a date night last night!!! At church Tyler asked Nana if he and Carter could stay the night and she said yes!!! So after nap we loaded them up drove them to Nana and Papas slowed down a little, pushed them out and called to let my parents know they were on their front porch (just kidding we actually came to a stop before letting them out!) Brad and I were then FREE!! We drove around our dream neighborhood which we WILL live in one of these days. Then we headed to Romeos on the Georgetown Square. We had a lot of fun and hopefully can do it more often! Thanks Nana and Papa!!!

Movin' On Up

Well it is official, I no longer have any babies around the house :( My little Carter is growing up. First he decided he doesn't need those diapers anymore and now he has a big boy bed of his very own. We took down his crib this past weekend and exchanged it for a bed. The crib he had was a converted crib so this will now be his full size bed. We ran into one little problem, it needed a bed frame... oops. We ran out of time on Saturday and Brad left early Sunday morning for a meeting out of town so poor Carter has been sleeping on the floor, well on a mattress on the floor anyway! But he has been doing AWESOME! he does not get our of bed until we come get him. I want it this way for a while until he understands when he can and can't get out of bed. This weekend when Brad is back we will set his bed up and take some pics to share!!!!

Christmas day Carter woke up with fever and ugly cough!!! He tried to be soooo super excited about what Santa brought him and all of his other toys, but it was in spurts! Tyler on the other hand was excited enough for both of them! He felt great and it just kept getting better. Santa brought him and Carter the Millennium Falcon!!!! After we opened here at our house we went for round 2 at Nana and Papas. It was a laid back fun day!!!!

The weekend after Christmas we made a super fast trip to Arlington for Christmas their. Carter was still not feeling well so I handed the camera to Brad to take pics...... this is the only one we got :(

Christmas Eve 2008

Christmas eve has always been a special time for our family. We have gotten together with my mom's side of the family for as long as I can remember. The past few years the celebration has taken place at my house, which I love because I love to entertain! This year instead of heading to Hyde Park for the candle light service we thought we would try the G-town First Baptist since that is where we have been going lately. It was wonderful! After church everyone headed back to my house for some yummy Mexican food. My brother had flown in while we were at Church so he was waiting for us when we got home. I had the kids table in front of the front door and they were eating while we were all talking in the kitchen. All of the sudden Tyler runs into the kitchen telling me there was someone at the front door singing???? I thought it was odd, but opened the door to listen..... It was my aunt and uncle and my 4 cousins that are currently living in Germany!!!!! The completly surprised us, after my aunt and I had a screaming match I invited them in for food and drinks!!! It was awesome to have everyone back together again on Christmas Eve, I know my grandmother was in Heaven!!!! We finished the night with a super fun game of Catch Phrases!!!

Sea World Holiday Celebration

We decided to head south again this weekend for some Christmas fun. This time we choose Sea World. After another bday party we made our way, we had one thing on our mind, Polar Express is 4D!!!! As soon as we got there we headed to the theatre. It was packed, but we were determined since we missed it at the IMAX. We all herded in like cattle and took our seat!

The show was AWESOME!!! Exactly like I like movies, short and sweet! They took the highlights of the movie and made it about 30 min. The boys had a huge smile on their face the entire time (ok, so did I) They made our seats vibrate like we were on the train and a couple times they made it snow.

After the show we headed to Viva for a really cool Beluga Whale and acrobat show. It too was amazing!

Our last stop was Shamu of course! Carter talked about seeing Shamu all the way to Sea World! It was a really cool show too!

Carter got into his stroller right after the Shamu show and made it maybe 2 min before he was OUT!!! it was a great family day!! I look forward to Sea World Passes again next year!

Hill Country Christmas at Schlitterbahn

Last weekend we all piled into Nana and Papa's car and drove south. We started at Cabellas, the boys loved it! It is such a cool store. Then we headed west to Boerne for some shopping. The boys did not love this so much, but me and Nana did!!! Our finial destination was Schlitterbahn for their Hill Country Christmas. The doors opened at 5:00 and what a beautiful sight it was! They had over a billion (ok, maybe not that many but a lot!) of lights, Christmas music playing over the whole park, some rides, "snow", and about a bazillion people!! It as sooooo crowded! The boys had a blast and were soooo tired on the way home (did I mention before the trip south we attended a bday party at Pump it Up, yeah they were tired!!!)

I LOVE this time of year! There are always so many things going. One of our favorites is the Chuy's Children Giving To Children Parade in downtown Austin. This was our 3rd year, the boys love it. It is such a great way to teach kids about the spirit of giving at Christmas and for them to understand how lucky they are to have a home and a Christmas tree full of presents under it on Christmas morning. At the end of the parade all the kids get to run in the street to donate the present they brought. All the donations benefit Blue Santa. After the Parade we walked around the Capital and then over to Brick Oven Pizza for some yummy lunch!

I hope we just started a new family tradition! Today when I was in the mix of the madness of Black Friday Shopping (I forgot to mention in my Black Friday Post that when Cheri and I were at Target we saw a girl that her shirt read " BFF ", "Black Friday Fanatic" .... Seriously!)

anyway, while at Target I picked up The Polar Express DVD for $5.00. After dinner tonite we all got in our PJ's popped some popcorn, made hot chocolate and snuggled on the couch to watch it! It was so awesome, they kids loved it and so did Brad and I! I hope we will sit as a family and watch that movie every year on Black Friday! I still hear the bell ring.... do you?

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving feast at my house with the family! After everyone left it was nap time! After we all rested up it was time for 2 BIG games and some decorating. We got our Christmas tree up and the boys had so much fun decorating, even though we are very bottom heavy with ornaments since that is as high as they could reach it looks beautiful! I had to head to bed early since I had a shopping date with Cheri at 5 am!! Last year we met at the outlet mall at midnight, but decided that was not worth it so we thought we would try the early bird thing! NO MORE!! man that was CRAZY!!! I did get some good things, but man people are NUTS when it comes to deals!! So next year we are going to try to hit the after early bird specials!!! It was fun and we will now have stories to tell our kids when they get older about how we had to fight for all their presents!

Today during Carter's nap Tyler and I completed this awesome Star Wars puzzle that he had received from his bday. It was a lot of fun having this one on one time with him and actually completing something (that was great for me, usually I loose my patience half way through and tell him Daddy will finish it!!).

Last month I took the boys to the Liberty Hill Homecoming game! Nana went with us, it was so much fun! The boys loved it and it was fun remembering old times! Hard to believe it has been over 14 years since it was me out there cheering and running around the stadium! We only stayed until half time as the boys were getting tired. I couldn't believe I only saw a couple of people I recognized! Doesn't anyone come to homecoming anymore??? The Panthers have won state the last 2 years and I think they are on that track again this year! They blew away the other team during this game!!

OH MY GOSH!!! This was a once in a lifetime trip I will never forget. 7 girls loaded up on a private jet and headed to Denver for the Madonna Concert all for Deanna's Bday! Her husband set up the awesome trip! We had the best seats EVER! we were on the floor row 5!!! WOW, we could touch her! She rocked for almost 2 hrs. She looked awesome and never got tired or took any breaks. We stood the entire time and sang along!!! I am surprised I have a voice today!!! We stayed in the best little hotel right there in down town Denver minutes away from the concert, drove around in a limo! I felt like we were the rock stars!!!

Halloween 2008 was awesome!!! The kids were none other than Star Wars guys! Tyler was Obi Won Konobie (sp??) and Carter was darth vador (fitting he would be the evil one!!!)

They went to Ms Connies for the day for the fun halloween party then I after I picked them up we headed to our friends Kim and Rob's for pizza, play, play, trick or treat, play, play!!! They had sooooo much fun and so did we!

Weekend with the Hubbards

Last weekend Grammy, Grampa, Aunt Melissa, Uncle Brian, Landon, Kylie and Uncle T all headed to our house to celebrate a late bday for Tyler. It was also Melissa's Bday so they shared the day. We started out watching the Horns kick some booty over OU!! Yeah horns!!! Then we headed to our local favorite hangout Jungle Java for the kiddos to get some energy out! After play time we headed over to the new Salt Lick by our house for some yummy BBQ! We called it a night after that. The next morning everyone headed back to our house for a little brunch before they hit the road back to Arlington. It was great seeing everyone!

Canton 08

My mom and I have been going to Canton for years, back when it was just "crap" on blankets laided out on the ground! Every year we get more and more people to join our annual trip. We usually go to the November show, but this year it lands on Halloween so we decided to move it up a month. My mom, her friend Mary, my aunt Judith and myself all piled in my moms truck early Friday morning and headed east!! We met my aunt Janice and Chesle there. We shopped and shopped and shopped more! They finally kicked us out so we headed back to Plano for the night. We all went to Mi Cocina to eat a fabulous dinner and drank some killer margaritas! After dinner Chesle and I headed to her house to get ready for a night out! We headed up to the Shops at Legacy and went to Martini Park for some FUN!!! we closed that place down too! We woke up Saturday (after sleeping in!! something I have not done in a long time) and headed back to Canton for round 2 minus Chesle, she was smart and stayed home. It was so much fun, I can't wait until next year! Hopefully Amanda will be able to join us then!

WOW, 5 how did that happen, my little boy is FIVE!! He is so excited about his party tonite he can't control himself! Tyler has had a great 5 years on this earth, he has the best family, brother and friends. His favorites are Spiderman, Star Wars, any super hero, playing with his "brother" Kaden" (and sometimes his real brother!) swimming, hanging out with his BFF aka Nana, and riding his bike WITHOUT training wheels! He is really a good kid, he did not start out that way however. Tyler was a CRYER! as a baby. In fact if I could have found a way to get him back in my tummy for another few months I might have done it! After he decided the world was not so bad he relaxed and became a good kid. I am so honored to be his mom and get to spend everyday with him and his brother watching them grow!

Fun filled Weekend!

It is allergy season for me and it never fails that my allergies will turn into a sinus infection! But this was not going to keep me home on a fun, sunny weekend! We woke up Saturday morning and decided we were going to head to Austin for the Old Pecan Street Festival. We called and Nana and Papa to see if they wanted to go with us, so they came over and off we went. The festival was fun full of shopping, food, drinks, weird men spray painted in silver (see picture below) and a few kid things. After the festival we took advantage of being in Austin and ate at Moonshine. Since we never really go to Austin it is fun to eat local when we are there. The food was yummy!
After Brad woke us all up from nap (yes,me too!) we headed to Jungle Java for some free play time. It was their grand opening special where the admission was FREE!!! The kids love this place! In fact, we will be there Monday for Tyler's b-day party!

Brad and I met while partying, uh I mean studying at SWT, now Texas State! Once we graduated we headed for Austin for our future together. Now 2 kids and 8 years later here we are!

I had been planning and working hard getting ready for my show in Marble Falls then IKE came along!!! The chamber cancelled the show and here I am left with a bunch of stuff! Oh well, I am just that much more ready for my next show. Since my plans changed we were able to attend little Ethan's Birthday party on Saturday at Chucky Cheese! The kids had a blast playing with Nana and all the great games CC has to offer. Sunday was a LAZY day except for Kaden's Birthday party at Mel's Bowling Alley in G-town. It was a lot of fun, it is a really nice NEW Bowling alley if you are in the area I would definitely suggest it! Now it is time for Tyler's Party! only 7 more days.....

How Bout Them Cowboys!

On Sunday we left Arlington for Plano to watch the Cowboy's game at my cousin's house. We had been planning this trip since we saw them at the reunion back in July. They have this awesome great big media room with a huge screen and a projector. We had better seats than if we were at the game! Tyler loves playing with their son, Luke. I knew they would have fun when Luke welcomed us wearing a Star Wars costume! They played Star Wars all night long. Carter loves their daughter and she took care of him all night, it was great! After the game we hit the pool and hot tub while Micheal cooked some awesome hamburgers. I can't wait until the next game, we are going to go broke on gas!!! We loaded the car early Saturday morning and headed north! Our first stop was the National Cowgirl Museum in Fort Worth. We met Grammy, Grandpa and Ganaw there. The kids had a blast in the children's area and dressing up like a cowboy! For lunch we headed to the Purple Cow where Tyler drank so much purple milkshake he thought he was going to be sick! After a little nap the kids where ready for some swimming at Grammy and Grampa's. Sunday morning we were able to get a little park time in before we had to head to Plano for our next adventure.

Ok, so maybe not a genius, but pretty darn close! I always wondered if I was holding Tyler and Carter back from what all they could be learning if they went to preschool everyday rather than staying home with me. I guess there are learning while shopping with me and hanging out in the kids gym!!!
I know it is hard to read, but Tyler told me he wanted to write on his chalk board "Bike without training wheels" because he is so proud of himself that he can ride his bike now. I told him how to spell it and this is what he wrote all by himself!! His "i" look like "p" but we can work on that!!

Carter's First Day of School

It is finally here, Carter's first day at Ms Connies! We have been talking up this event for some time now and he was super excited. We got his backpack ready with all the essentials and we were off! We made it to Ms Connies by about 8:00 ( yes I was a little excited too) we walked in and she was ready with waffles for him! Since food was involved he did not even notice that I left. I had a great morning of working out and getting my hair cut. It was a great day, very refreshing! The house is spotless!! Around 4:30 I decided it was time to go see how my baby did. I walked in and he was at the table playing. From the looks of it he had a great day, Ms Connie said he only cried once right before nap, but otherwise did great! We celebrated a successful first day of school with some jr banana splits from Sonic!! Hope next wed goes this good too!

This weekend Carter is feeling what it is like to be an only child. Nana called on Saturday and wanted to know if Tyler wanted to come stay the night with her which has turned into 2 nights because of Labor Day! Our plans were to head to the lake this afternoon, but it does not look like we will be laking it this Labor Day so we are headed to their house on Monday which means Tyler gets one more day of spoiling and so does Carter!!! Yesterday after we dropped Tyler off we headed with Carter to eat Pizza and do a little shopping at BC Mall. Today he has already rode his bike around the block with Daddy, gone to Dino Dig and a picnic with Daddy and will be soon heading my way (it is my Sunday at work) to eat dinner at Waterloo with some of our friends! Here are some pics of the dino dig (he spent more of his time in the water, I don't blame him it is like 100 deg!!!!)

The Circus is in Town!!!

I have a perfect view of the train track on 79 while running on the treadmill at the gym and the other day I saw the coolest thing! It was the circus train coming to town! Cheri and I talked and decided we had to take the kids. We loaded up the car Saturday night along with the Thompsons and headed to the circus! Our first stop was to P Terry's for some awesome hamburgers and shakes. Then it was SHOW TIME! We herded into the Frank Erwin Center along with about 5000 other circus goers and headed for our seats. We did have to pull the kids away from the $18 programs, $20 lighted swards, $15 snow cones (but you get to keep the cup mom!) and $12 cotton candy with a hat you get to keep! WOW!! The boys were in awe, it as an awesome experience! I had no idea it was a 2hr show, so at 9:30 when it was over the boys were exhausted. Here are a few pics from the event!

Once again, Tyler is growing up TOO FAST! Last week Brad was out of town and I had my Chaps meeting so I asked Cheri (our neighbor for the next 3 days :( )if she could help me out and watch the boys for a couple of hours. This turned in to an awesome pizza, cupcake, Sleepover! The boys had a blast while I was gone, you can read about the night on Cheri's Blog. When I got home I came right over to get Carter thinking he would be missing me! NO!!! He wanted to stay too! As I was getting him ready to go I was asking Tyler over and over if he was SURE he wanted to stay. He was so excited and ready for his 1st sleepover, so off I went! I was totally thinking I would get a call in the middle of the night telling me to come get him, but when Carter woke me up at 6:30 the next morning I realized he had done it!!!

No Training Wheels and Underwear!!

Both my boys are growing up so fast! Tyler decided the other night he no longer wanted those silly training wheels on his bike so off they went. It has been a tough go, but I think he finally has it. I took video of his work in progress, he is so proud of himself! I decided for Carter that is was time to get rid of those diapers! We went straight to brothers underwear drawer and got some undies for Carter to start the traning process! He is not going to be as easy as Tyler was, we already had 3 accidents in one hour! How is that possible that he tee tee's that much in 1 HR??? We will be heading to Target next week for Carter to pick out his own super hero undies, maybe that will help. Update: Tyler is a pro at the bike, only 1 day later he is all over the place on his bike! I went for a run last night while he rode his bike and I could not keep up with him!!!

YUMMY!!! Way off my diet, but worth every bite. Then we went swimming to work it off! Me and the boys got Brad a new GPS and my parents got him a awesome beer can chicken holder so he can make some of his famous BC Chicken at the lake!!! Don't worry, he got some golf time in on Saturday! This was Brad's Birthday WEEKEND and he did not let us forget it!!!

Jungle Java

Now that everyone is well (for now!) we headed for a much needed day out of the house to a new place that just opened a few minutes from our house, Jungle Java! It is wonderful, they serve yummy drinks and food and the kids play on this huge jungle gym while the moms hang out and talk! We had a little mama drama with another mom, but that made it that much more fun!! I went with a 3 other moms and together we had 7 boys and 1 girl, poor Katelyn. They had a blast!

Sea World Adventure

On Thursday the four of us headed for Sea World San Antonio for hopes of a fun little vacation! Right as we entered San Antonio my poor little Carter gets sick (pukes all over himself). This did not go over very well with big brother! Tyler was practically hanging his head out out the window and would have jumped out if I would have let him! We pull over to probably the grossest gas station San Antonio has to offer, but when you have to pull over you really have no choice. We cleaned Carter and the car seat up as good as we could with what we had! Tyler the entire time is crying telling me he does not want our car anymore, he wants a mini van???? what??? crazy kid! We got back in the car and called the hotel to see if we could get early check in, our original plan of going straight to Sea World was no longer an option! The Omni was so great to let us in our room early. We hung out there for a few hours to see what would happen with Carter and decide what we would do next. We all took a nap and when we woke up, he seemed to be much better so we decided to try Sea World for a while. We had a great time, everything went well much to our surprise! Everyone slept well that night we thought it must have been car sickness or something?? We headed back for a few more hours of Sea World before we went home. We saw the Shamu Show, a 4D Pirates movie (the kids were so freaked out!!!) and all the animals that they had to offer. Tyler and Brad went on a water ride, while Carter and I hung out in the toddler water area! All in all it was a fun vacation, with a little hic up, but I think traveling with kids that is to be expected! Our tickets were season passes so we look forward to going back soon when it cools off a bit.
As far a Carter goes, we are not sure what is wrong with him. He has gotten sick 2 more times since then, but randomly. We are going to take him to the Dr Monday morning to have him checked out. Hopefully nothing more than a bug!

More Lake Fun!

We headed back to the lake house this weekend and our friends Dan, Marsha and their two kids went with us! We took them to Treasure Island, made some yummy brisket and beer can chicken, and relaxed in the hot tub!
I did not think they could actually see anything in the murky lake water, but JT actually came up with a pair of Versace sunglasses!!! Way to go JT!

About 4 months ago or so I LOST my wedding Ring :( We looked everywhere for it, my fear was it somehow made it to the trash or flushed!!! Friday while I was looking for something else there it was!!! Yeah we have be reunited!!! Happy Happy Happy Dance!! The boys were equally excited because now their name has been cleared of any wrong doing!!!

Nana's Company Picnic

Today was Nana's annual company picnic, so after our last swim lesson we raced to her office to let the fun begin! They had it set up carnival style with different "booths", the kids had a blast! Here are some of the booths they enjoyed!

Swim Lessons

Tomorrow is Tyler's last swim lesson, I am not sure he learned anymore than he knew before the lessons but he had fun. He is already a pretty good swimmer and I was unsure which level to enroll him in, I think he should have been in one level up from blowing bubbles in the water!!! The hardest part was telling Carter he could not get into the pool! What was I thinking not enrolling him too!

i am sitting here at "work" ( yes it is already my Sunday again) while my boys are having fun on the lake!! I am looking out the window at the beautiful day out and wondering why I am not there with them!! Oh well, we have an exciting weekend planned next weekend with some of our friends at the lake, so i guess I can wait!
In other news, Brad and I went out friday night to help our good friend Katie celebrate her 30th birthday! We met them for drinks and dinner at Moonshine downtown. We had lots of fun, but we cut it short while the others went to 6th street all night! Our babysitter aka Uncle Travis had plans later that night we headed home after dinner.

4th of July Fun

My parents hosted our family reunion at their lake house this weekend. It was a blast, I am hoarse from talking and laughing more than I have done in a long time! We all met at the house on Thursday afternoon for some hamburgers, hot dogs and smoars!! The next morning we woke up ready for the lake. Our Captain aka Brad drove us to a cool island that has surfaced since the lake is so low. The kids declared it "Treasure Island", we declared it relaxation!!! The kids had a blast exploring the island and running and jumping into the lake. Us adults had a blast on our rafts enjoying some great family time and adult beverages! That night we enjoyed a shrimp boil and fireworks. The guys had a little firework show for us and the neibourhood accross the lake also had one. Saturday was a repeat of Friday without the firework show, more lounging on Treasure Island! Brad cooked us some great beer can chicken mmmmmm good! Tonite we also enjoyed some hot tub time! Sunday it all had to come to an end and go home! What a great time! Can't wait to do it all over again next year!

Yesterday was my birthday and it was great! I spent the day with my boys and had lunch with Cheri and her gang (thanks again Cheri!). After nap we headed to meet Brad for dinner. We decided last minute to head to Hula Hut on Lake Travis. The boys had a blast watching the boats and water and Brad and I enjoyed a few drinks and a yummy fajita dinner. Brad and the boys got me a new IPOD Nano and arm band to use while I work out. I love it, thanks guys!
